Disabling Bluetooth Absolute Volume

In some circumstances (like a set of Edifier speakers that don’t work with it), it may be desirable to disable Bluetooth Absolute Volume.

Android

Navigate to the Developer Settings and uncheck the relevant box. You’ll need to disable and re-enable Bluetooth for this to take effect if it was already enabled.

Windows

Using regedit, create/set

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Bluetooth\Audio\AVRCP\CT\DisableAbsoluteVolume

to 1 (DWORD).
